2. If you have an order created, you can add it to the quote.
3. If you don’t have an order, you have to fill in the information required to request a quote. Fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.
4. The Pickup and Delivery Details section indicates if the locations are Commercial, Residential, or Limited Access. Depending on this, some accessorials will be automatically selected.
- Also, here’s where you’ll select the Pickup Date for your shipment.
5. The Lane section is to specify the Pickup and Delivery addresses, accordingly.
6. The Commodity section holds your product’s information
a. In Commodity # you can add a specific product’s information. This information needs to be accurate to provide better quotes.
Once you’ve entered your commodity information (description, quantity, measurements, weight), the class estimator will calculate your shipment’s classification and assign a Freight Class.
The Class Determined here is solely based on the information entered, is an estimate based on density, and is subject to review, inspection, and change by the chosen carrier. It is the sole responsibility of the Shipper to understand and assign the correct NMFC, Description, and Class on the Bill of Lading.
b. You can also specify if you have hazardous material, in which case you'll need to provide the information required.
c. In Add Commodity, you can add a new window like the one above to add another commodity.
d. In Total Declared Value you can add the shipment cost that your buyer will pay.
7. The Handling Units section is to confirm the number and type of handling units your shipment needs (pallet, crate, box, etc).
a. In Handling Unit # you can fill your handling unit’s quantity, type, and any additional weight.
b. In Add Handling Unit you can add a different handling unit type than the one above, with its information.
c. Total shipment weight shows the total weight of the shipment plus any additional from the handling units.
8. After filling in the information above click on Get Quote to proceed.
9. On the next page, you’ll be able to confirm your shipment’s information and select a quote by clicking on the blue checkbox under your preferred option.
a. Under Available quotes, you’ll see the available carriers. This will also show any limitations on dimensions and weight for the carrier. Exceeding these limitations may incur fees not present on the initial quote.
b. The transit time column shows an estimate of the transit days.
c. The standard column shows the price for standard shipping (transit times not guaranteed)
d. The guaranteed column shows the price for the guaranteed shipping on the shown transit times.
e. On this column you can preview your savings in
Inxeption Reward Tokens if this is enabled on your account. For more information read our article
What are Inxeption Reward Tokens g. You can also Reject All Quotes if you no longer need them. Rejected quotes can also be renewed.
The quotes will be generated automatically if our carriers have available rates that fit your needs.
